M. Turandot

Every form is an instrument for investigating the same question: how a story actually lands in the human nervous system.

M. Turandot is the author of Wilhelmina, the libretto Muirgen’s Carousel: The Hope of Return, and At the Angle of Blue. Nur Kardelen is her third novel, and the first built on her oldest training: twelve years of classical piano in a lineage descending from Leschetizky and Schnabel, a mezzo-soprano’s schooling, and jazz vocal performance with the University of Michigan Women’s Glee Club.

Her practice has moved across forms — visual art, screenwriting, theater, libretto, music, and prose. Each is an instrument for investigating the same phenomenon.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and has served as a judge for the Austin Film Festival for eight years. She publishes through Miragwyn Books, the independent press she founded.

She lives in Manakin Sabot, Virginia.
